Objectworld Mashes Up Unified Communications with Corporate Data and Business Processes
Visual service creation environment enables user-created solutions, phone-based applications and services that accelerate return on investment
OTTAWA, Canada — September 30, 2008 — Objectworld Communications Corp., today announced new communications-enabled service creation capabilities with
its award-winning Objectworld Unified Communication (UC) Server® software. Users can now take greater control over building their own unified communications
process and solutions by “mashing-up” corporate data, business processes (e.g., responding to customer calls, working with partners, providing customers with
self-service) and business communications systems (e.g., e-mail, voice, fax). By linking business communications, business processes, and corporate data with
phone-based applications and services, SMBs are able to accelerate their return on investment in unified communications.
Objectworld’s offering is unique in the market. UC Server provides a service creation environment for phone-based services and applications with a number of
drag-and-drop controls that makes building services and applications visual and straightforward (no complicated PBX programming required). Unlike
traditional enterprise IT mash-ups, with Objectworld’s solution the Web isn’t the delivery mechanism; the phone system is. However, the principle is
still the same: UC Server provides tools that allow organizations to customize their unified communications solutions to meet their specific business
processes and customer expectations. The environment even checks the service logic for you.
“In today’s fast-changing business landscape, low-cost, flexible solutions are very important to small- to medium-sized businesses as they grow large
and as they adapt to compete,” said David Levy, Objectworld’s president and chief executive officer. “Until now, communications enabled business
process capabilities were expensive — affordably only by large enterprises. With UC Server, SMB customers and solution providers quickly can
build unified communications services and applications that link together e-mail, voice, and corporate data, potentially saving tens of thousands
of dollars in professional services fees while creating the opportunity to develop new revenue streams.”
“At CCC Technologies, our customers want to deploy unified communications but they also want to apply it for high ROI with phone-based services and
applications that link calls, e-mail, and other business processes and corporate data,” said Jim Poull, Vice President of Sales for CCC Technologies,
Inc. “For example, a real estate customer may want to make a database of their housing listing available over the phone, or a bank may want to offer
full, sophisticated account management services by phone, and that involves connecting the phone with their corporate data stores. Either way,
there’s no other product in the market today that makes building these kinds of services as straightforward as Objectworld UC Server.”
Other improvements with this new release of Objectworld UC Server provide improving out-dialing capabilities by detecting fax machines and voicemail.
Other features include: new support for audio paging, execution of external applications from a list determined by IT administrators, and improvements
to audio file handling, email attachments, data comparisons, and database filtering capabilities.
