Introduction --------------- This document contains installation instructions, last minute notes about the product, and contact information for ObjectWorld Inc. 2. Brief Product Description ---------------------------- CallAttendant Client is a remote client that allows users to access CallAttendant Pro mailboxes over a TCP/IP local area network (LAN). CallAttendant Pro is required in order to user the CallAttendant Client. 3. Installation Instructions ---------------------------- 1. Run the self-extracting file you have downloaded to start the installation process. 2. You will then be stepped through the installation of the program. At various points you will be asked questions regarding the installation, such as where you want the program to be installed. For most users, the default options should suffice. 5. CallAttendant Client Setup Instructions ------------------------------------------ 1) Run CallAttendant Client by locating and selecting it from the Start Menu. The default installation options will place it under Programs, CallAttendant Client. 2) CallAttendant Client, when launched for the first time, will prompt you to register your copy. If you have not yet purchased a copy, you can select the appropriate option to evaluate the product for a limited time period. 3) After you have entered your license key, or chosen to run the product as a trial copy, you will be asked for the name of the CallAttendant Server. Enter the name of the CallAttendant Server computer. You can also enter the computer's IP address. If the CallAttendant server is located on the same machine as the client, enter "127.0.0.1" or "localhost" without the quotes. Contact your network administrator if you are unsure of what to enter. 4) You will then be prompted for the name of the mailbox to connect to. Select your assigned mailbox from the list of mailboxes, and enter the password for the mailbox. You can also set options to remember the mailbox and password so that you are not prompted each time CallAttendant Client starts. 5) CallAttendant client will now be running. Initially, it may be minimized in your system tree. If it is, locate the little red icon in the system tray (typically located in the bottom right corner or your screen next to the clock). Double-click on this icon to show the mailbox window. 6. Known Issues --------------- 1) Connections to the server sometimes fail after a recent disconnection. Try connecting again, it will work the second time. 2) Occasionally the mailbox contents are not shown the very first time the CallAttendant Client is run. Minimize the window, and restore it to refresh the window. 3) Occasionally the mailbox window may be drawn incorrectly. Minimize the window, and restore it to refresh the window. 7. Changes since version 1.0.0 ------------------------------ 1) Fixed problem with error message claiming that default mailbox could not be saved. 2) New message indicator cleared on all message manipulation. 3) New message indicator is now shown when you first open a mailbox. 4) Transparent areas are now supported properly in skins.
